Your NoVA Neighbor

Small tasks. Real help.

Practical help for seniors and neighbors who need an extra set of capable hands. Pay whatever you want.

What Kind of Help?

Your NoVA Neighbor provides help with everyday tasks that are easier with an extra set of hands. If it can be done by one person in about an hour or less and doesn't require a licensed professional, I can probably help.

Whether it’s something as simple as moving something heavy or as involved as working through a full list of to-dos around the house, I’m here to help with patience and care.

Many of the neighbors I serve are seniors, but anyone who needs a friendly, trustworthy extra set of hands is welcome to reach out.

Hands-On Help

I can help move small furniture around the house, bring decorations to the attic, or dig holes for plants.

Simple Fixes

I can help change burnt-out lightbulbs, tighten loose chair legs, or patch small drywall holes.

Tech Assistance

I can help connect your phone to your car, set up a printer, or get your TV working with streaming services like Netflix.

Money Clarity

I can help you create a budget, do simple financial calculations, or evaluate various financial scenarios.

Neighborly Support

I can run your donations to goodwill, act as a sounding board for an idea, or help with basic garage organization.

How It Works

Getting help is simple.

1

Request Help

Review the What I Help With page to make sure your task is a good fit. Then reach out with your name, address, and a brief description of what you need. If you are unsure whether something qualifies, just ask.Tell us what you need. If it takes an hour or less, we're on it. No upfront pricing or quotes needed.

2

Get Scheduled

I will let you know if it is something I can reasonably take on. If your task and location are a good fit, we will coordinate a time that works.

3

Help Gets Done

I show up ready to work and can spend up to an hour helping you move through your list of tasks. Many neighbors find it helpful to group a few small items together.

4

Optional Contribution

If you are happy with the help you received, you can contribute whatever feels fair. There is no minimum and no pressure.

Frequently Asked Questions

Here are some common questions about Your NoVA Neighbor. For a more comprehensive list, please visit my FAQ page.

Who will be showing up at my house to complete tasks?

It will be me. If this grows and I bring on new helpers, you will always know who is coming to your home ahead of time.

How does Pay What You Want actually work?

After the work is complete, you decide what feels fair based on the value you received and what you can afford.

What if I cannot afford to contribute anything?

That is okay. You will receive the same care and respect regardless of what you choose to give.

Do I have to sign a contract or agree to any terms?

No contracts need to be signed or agreements need to be made. Everything is completely on your terms.

How quickly can you schedule?

Availability varies week to week. I do my best to respond within 24 hours and will let you know the earliest realistic time I can help.

Is this a nonprofit?

No. Your NoVA Neighbor is a mission driven business, not a charity. Read more about it on my FAQ Page.
